REACHING OUT TO RWANDA
Date: 2005-05-03

Our recent trip to Rwanda was both a challenge and a privilege. A challenge because I was feeling unwell and because of the negative pictures that we had been given as to the security of the country. In addition to this, our finances were under considerable strain due to the millions of pounds we have spent over the last years in Africa and other nations. However we felt that God was leading us to reach out to Rwanda and sure enough He anointed us and empowered us to do His will.

The first thing I noticed was the hunger of the people for the word of God and the genuine love and kindness they showed us, then the beauty of the country and how God had brought such a healing to the people after the genocide which left almost one million dead and over a million orphans.

We were privilege to be able to minister the living word of God right into the hearts of multitudes during the seminars and crusades as well as on TV and radio. Thousands responded to the altar call for salvation and other needs and God confirmed His word by transforming lives. The message we felt in our heart to share with the people of Rwanda was one of encouragement emphasizing in particular Isaiah 61 that He gives "beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness… "

I believe the Holy Spirit impressed upon my heart to emphasize the fact that Rwanda has a good future and God is going to cause His beauty to be seen through that nation and it will shine around the world. We are praying much for the people we met and for the government and all concern for the good of the future of Rwanda.

The Prime Minister invited us to his office and we were able to share fellowship and learn more about that lovely country. The head of the Anglican Church came to see me and I was greatly impressed by this precious man of God and his desire to see God's Kingdom increased. We had the privilege of meeting and working with many bishops and key leaders of the church in Rwanda. Many of whom lead huge congregations and do a wonderful work for the kingdom of God. We are asking people everywhere to pray for Rwanda and stand with us in unity as we seek to do more to help them in the days ahead. Your fervent prayer and financial partnership will enable us to help where people are hurting the most. But without your support we simply cannot continue to reach out to almost one billion in TV and radio worldwide each week plus help those people who have desperate needs like orphans, widows and homeless. We want to increase our activities in these last days so that more people can be brought into the Kingdom and to fulfill their destiny.

Never before have have we faced such challenges as in this present day with the vast needs of our generations on the one hand and on the other hand the need for thousands of new partners to stand with us in prayer and support each month.

Will you sow some seeds into the good ground of CCN and help us to help others reach out in love and faith while we still have a little time left?

Jesus said in John 9: 4: "I must work while it is day; the night is coming when no man can work." I am very aware that opportunities only last for a short time and then the harvest can be lost forever. We want to strengthen governments and leaders who stand for righteousness and seek to give back peace and liberty to the people of their nations. We also greatly desire to reach the lost poor hurting in the slums as well as equip leaders and believers to be more effective in the work of the ministry.

Will you take time to sow, and remember the promise in 2 Corinthians 9:6, if we sow bountifully, we shall also reap bountifully.

God bless you and I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
